drupal multisite, guides and problems encountered

spent a fair amout of time researching on multisite for drupal.

1. this article gives a very good guide.  it provides implementation of single code base and multiple database.

using windows server 2008 as a learning ground, using iis 7.0.

using windows 7, iis7.5 as local development machine

local machine runs fine, however, while ftp to server and change the relevant parameters, the themes seems not to be working.
